Are there any side effects?
MC is very safe, proven and effective therapy with minimal risks. The most common side effect is occasional redness or irritation at the site of injection, and this resolves shortly after treatment. Some patients may experience low blood pressure or light-headedness during or after infusion, but these typically only last 5-10 minutes. Having a mild taste of B vitamins in the back of the throat is not uncommon, but this diminishes shortly after treatment. Some patients may experience a feeling of warmth and relaxation coming over the body due to magnesium ( muscle relaxant). Patients with history of congestive heart failure or very low blood pressure need to be closely monitored and some may not be candidates for MC IV therapy.
